

Barbara Ann Watts was born on February 21, 1943, in Texas City, Texas to parents Jackie and Lawrence Watts. She went home to be with our Lord and Savior on December 3, 2025, in Houston, Texas at the age of 82. She is preceded in death by her brother, Al Eugene Watts, parents Jackie & Lawrence Watts, and her beloved husband Ralph Wayne Hamilton.
As a child Barbara loved riding bikes and playing with other children. Barbara played the saxophone and enjoyed music. She attended South Houston High School. As a teenager she loved to babysit, especially little babies. She loved babies!
A new store named Kmart was built and opened in South Houston. She worked at Kmart as head cashier. It was here that Barbara made a lifelong friend named Martha. Martha introduced her to a military guy. Ralph was his name and they began dating. She also worked at the Astrodome as a telephone operator. Here she met Roy Hofheinz who later became the mayor. She easily made friends everywhere she went.
Barbara married Ralph in August of 1963. He was the love of her life. She loved being his wife and cared for him deeply. Barbara enjoyed fishing and camping with him. Barbara and Ralph had a house built in South Houston. This is where she met a neighbor named that became another lifelong friend. Barbara and Ralph had two daughters Lisa Renea Hamilton in 1966, & Tracy Lynn Hamilton 1970. They were married for 28 years.
Barbara loved the color green and had a green thumb too. She was always working in the yard and made sure it looked manicured. Barbara loved cookies and when you came to her home, she always offered you cookies. There were never crumbs on the floor as Barbara kept an exceptionally clean house. She even emptied Ralph’s ashtray before he finished the cigarette.
Barbara was an exceptional caregiver and took care of Ralph and her mother as their illnesses progressed. She was the one you wanted by your side if you were sick as she had a loving way of taking care of you.
Barbara was greatly loved and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her daughter Lisa Hamilton, daughter Tracy Dobbins and husband Glenn Dobbins, grandchildren Dixie Dobbins and Doyle Dobbins, great grandson Logan Dobbins, sister Patricia Watts Hollister and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
