Benito M. Vargas, 83, a loving father and grandfather, entered into eternal rest on June 22, 2013. Benito is preceded in death by his wife of 48 years Modesta Z. Vargas, his parents Benito Vargas and Paula Monroy Vargas, and his sister Jovita V. Jessup. He is survived by his five daughters: Janie Juarez (Joel), Paula Moreno (Fernando Sr.), Olga Castro (Francisco Sr.), Gracie Peña (Charles), Cristina Villuendas (Valente), and thirteen grandchildren: Krystina and Veronica Juarez, Fernando Jr. and Andrew Moreno; Nelly, Francisco Jr., Jessica (Julio Calles), and David Castro; Charles and Demarie Peña; Ismael Jr., Christopher (Christy), and Cristal Cervantes. Benito is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Benito was a lifelong member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Visitation will be held from 6 pm to 9 pm on Tuesday, June 25, 2013, with a rosary at 7pm at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home-Main Chapel- located at 6900 Lawndale St, Houston, TX 77023. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at 10:00 am, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 7539 Avenue K, Houston, TX 77012, with a viewing at 9:00 am. Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery 6900 Lawndale St, Houston, TX 77023.
