

Betty was born on Monday, December 9, 1935 in Pittsburg, Texas. She married Edward Arthur Averitt on Saturday, February 23, 1952. She was an active member of Fair Haven United Methodist Church, and a retiree from the Spring Branch Independent School District.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, brother, and both parents. She is survived by her loving children: son, Ray Averitt and wife Connie of Brenham, Texas, daughter, Wanda Iselt, son, David Averitt and wife Amy, son, Paul Averitt and wife Jessica, all of Houston, Texas. Betty is also survived by her grandchildren: Christopher Iselt, Misti Perez, Matthew Averitt, Hunter Averitt, Gage Averitt, Joshua Averitt, Melissa Averitt, and Rebecca Averitt; great-grandchildren: Kaylee Iselt, Chase Kleppel, Lane Perez, and Talyn Perez; her sister, Elizabeth Darlee Jones and life partner Marsha Treadwell, and sister, Michelle Compton, as well as many other loving family members and dear friends.
Family and friends gathered at a visitation from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 9th at Waltrip Funeral Directors in Houston, Texas, where funeral services were held in the funeral home chapel at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 10th, with Reverend Paul Thomasson of Fair Haven United Methodist Church officiating.
Graveside services and interment followed at 4:30 p.m. in New Prospect Cemetery, Timpson, Shelby County, Texas, with Reverend Vicki Averitt officiating.
