Betty Ward Davis

Betty Ward Davis joined her Father in heaven on Saturday, February 3rd, in Deer Park ,Texas, at the age of 82. Betty was born in Thornberry, Texas on April 4, 1935. She had two brothers and one sister. She met the love of her life, Edgar Don Davis, at the age of 16 and married him on November 22, 1952, in Wichita Falls, Texas. They were married for 59 years until Edd passed away in 2012.

Betty was an amazing, loving, faith-filled, family-oriented, giving lady. She cherished her roles as wife to Edd, mother to Don and Doug, "grandma" to numerous children who feel blessed to have been able to call her "Memaw."

Betty was a true, loyal and faithful friend. She loved deeply and was always willing to share and give herself by serving her family and friends. Cooking and baking was her heart-felt ministry, believing feeding the person also fed the soul-which she did masterfully.

Betty would never call herself strong and courageous, but to all who knew and loved her, those two words aptly described the sweet woman who had to endure the pain of burying her two sons who died too soon and her beloved Edd.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Davis, sons Don Davis and Douglas Davis. Also preceded in death by 1 brother and 1 sister.

A visitation will be held at 10:00am on Friday February 9, 2018, followed by funeral service for Betty at 11:00am at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A burial will occur at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, Texas 77023.
