

Carole Jean Wells, 86, of Crosby, Texas, passed away on February 9, 2026. She had been living in a memory care facility in Metairie, LA for the past year to be closer to her son, Greg. She was born on October 19, 1939, in Crosby, MS and then spent much of her life in Galena Park, Texas.
She graduated from Galena Park High School in 1958. She had a long career as a secretary in the oil drilling industry having retired from National Oil Well in the early 2000’s.
Carole was actively involved in volunteering for the American Heart Association for many years and she was dedicated to raising money for this organization.
She is survived by her son, Gregory Wells, her siblings Bill Fuller, Rita McDonald, Becky Johnson, Sid McDonald, Sandra Hill, and Debbie Murray, Jon McDonald; nephew Allan Fuller, niece Kari Bennett, niece Sandy Orn; and beloved cousins Kay and Nina.
She was preceded in death by her mother Lorraine Fuller, her sister Myrna McWhirter, and her husband Donald Wells.
Carole was most happy when she was surrounded by her friends, including Cinie Angel, Dottie Woods, Ann Bynum, Judy Hughes, Sue McDaniel, Marilyn Weatherly, Marilyn Manley, Billie French, Beth Harrelson, Dorothy Holmes, and Hattie Bland. She affectionately referred to this group as “the girls” and they enjoyed getting together for luncheons and tea and sharing laughs.
Greg would like to thank Maryuri Castillo and Monique Brannan and all of the staff at Beau Maison of Peristyle Residences as well as Jesse and the staff of Hospice Specialists of Louisiana for the care and compassion they showed his mother during her final year of life and especially in her final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside burial on Monday February 16, 2026 at 12pm at Forest Park Lawndale at 6900 Lawndale St, Houston, TX 77023
