

Cecilia “Cecil” Louise Goggins was born in Garland, Texas on November 22, 1951 and she passed away on August 6, 2025, at the age of 73. Remembered for her loving, hardworking, honest, and generous nature, Cecil was also radiant, selfless, kind-hearted, and had a wonderful sense of humor.
Cecil grew up in Garland before relocating to Houston in 1976. She was a dedicated wife and mother whose commitment to family was unwavering. Throughout her career, Cecil worked as a business administrator and found success as a Mary Kay representative. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Cecil’s greatest joy came from her family.
Her love story with Jerry began in the late 1970s, culminating in their marriage in February 1979. The couple welcomed their daughter, Jennifer Michelle Goggins, later that year. Cecil is survived by her husband, Jerry; her daughter, Jennifer, and son-in-law, Billy Boyce; and her grandchildren, Grant and Alison. She is also survived by her brothers, Floyd and Charlie Maples; her niece, Amy Maples; and her nephews, Aaron and Curtis Maples.
A lifelong lover of creative crafts, Cecil found joy in transforming simple materials into beautiful expressions of creativity. Her daughter and grandchildren fondly remember times spent crafting. She was an avid reader with an extensive collection of books and magazines. She enjoyed music from the 1960s and 1970s, especially Crosby, Stills, and Nash, and Elton John. Watching family movies on the Hallmark Channel was one of her favorite pastimes. The Christmas season held a special place in her heart, and she cherished collecting Goebel Christmas angels and Lenox China ornaments. Cecil and Jerry enjoyed meals at Juarez Mexican Restaurant, while Fleming’s Steakhouse was their preferred anniversary destination. Cecil had a deep affection for her pets, who were cherished companions and constant sources of comfort.
Cecil’s vibrant spirit and giving heart touched all who knew her, and she will be profoundly missed.
