Chick was a fun loving man who was known for his wittiness, endless laughter and illuminating smile. If you knew Chick, you knew football was his life. He excelled at the sport and was a standout high school player who was part of the winning 64’ Glynn Academy State Championship Football Team from Brunswick, Georgia. He continued on to play in college at Wake Forest.
While not on the playing field, Chick served in the United States Army and achieved the respected rank of First Lieutenant before being Honorably Discharged.
He is preceded in death by his father, professional baseball player of the 1930’s and 1940’s, Charlie “The Greek” George, his mother Helen Pendergast George and sister Helen Dazet.
Leaving behind to cherish his memory is the love of his life, Brenda T. George. They would have celebrated twenty-six years of marriage on December 15, 2019.
His legacy will live on through his children; sons, Alex George and Charles P. George III (Jennifer) daughters, Natalie C. George and Paula C. Griffin (Rostyle) and step-children, Stacy Westmoreland and Greg Westmoreland (Valerie). Ten grandchildren and three step-grandsons. Chick’s siblings, Barbara Silfkin, Cathy Favet (Uncus), Mary Rogers (Jimmy) and David E. George and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many many friends.
Chick loved life and was a caring man with the biggest heart. He will be missed by all who had the privilege to meet him.
