

Charles David Odom, a beloved and cherished individual, passed away on August 21, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on July 1, 1938, in Canton, Mississippi, Charles was known as a gentle man and for his brave, compassionate, and devoted nature. He resided in Houston, Texas.
Charles completed his education up to the 8th grade and was self-educated in mechanics. He further pursued his passion by graduating from trade school as a machinist. His career began with honorable service in the United States Air Force from 1956 to 1962, after which he was honorably discharged. He continued his professional journey as a machinist with OMSCO, retiring in 2004.
On June 14, 1958, Charles married the love of his life, with whom he shared 67 wonderful years. His marriage was a testament to his faithful and loyal character. Charles was a man of many interests, including hunting and collecting guns, knives, and coins. His community involvement, particularly in church activities, reflected his generous and kind-hearted spirit.
Charles was known for his honesty and good-hearted nature, always ready to help those in need. He was humorous, inspirational, and a wise man who left a legacy of resilience, selflessness, and thoughtfulness. His gentle and patient demeanor touched the lives of many.
The family extends their gratitude to the staff of Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital for their compassionate care. In the words of Charles, "Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer." Romans 12:12.
