We celebrate the life of centenarian Charlotte Louise Johnston Pitts. Charlotte, also known as “baby”, “MawMaw, and “GG” and was born on Nov 3, 1917 in Ged, LA. She graduated with highest honors to Heaven on Good Friday, March 30, 2018, in Austin, TX. Heaven truly welcomed a gentle, and joyful angel this day! Charlotte is preceded in death by her mother, Etta Mae McGee Johnston, father, John Thomas Johnston, husband, Carl Alexander “Cap” Pitts, granddaughter, Kimberly Claire Pitts, and son, Waleman Connell “Butch” Pitts. Surviving relatives include her daughter, Brenda Pitts Bowman and her son-in-law Don Bowman of Austin, TX; daughter, Susan Pitts Bradley of Santa Rosa Beach, FL; son, Thomas Drew Pitts of Austin, TX; 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She grew up in Houston and lived latter years in McAllen and Cedar Park/Austin, TX. Her final home of worship was at Great Hills Baptist Church in Austin. Charlotte contributed 80 years of hard work in various roles spanning real estate, floral design, retail, personal services and teaching, but was best known for her world famous chicken ‘n dumplins. She celebrated her 100th birthday in November, 2017 among a host of family and friends who adored her. She lived simply and joyfully and put her trust in the Lord each day. We were so blessed to enjoy her for so long.
