With heavy hearts, we come together to celebrate the extraordinary life of Cheryl Lynn Frierson, a vibrant soul who departed this world on January 4, 2024, at the age of 75. Cheryl's journey reached its peaceful conclusion, surrounded by her loving family and the comforting presence of the divine, following her valiant battle with illness.
Cheryl was an exceptional woman, celebrated for her boundless openness and never-ending curiosity. Her professional path traveled through a diverse array of roles, from her devoted service as a Food Service Manager at Randall's to her management of Vegas Style retail and event services. Cheryl was also a pioneer, the very first employee, for Conad Quick Servicing, a testament to her genuine kindness and unmatched adaptability.
At the heart of Cheryl's vibrant life stood her enduring union with Gary Charles Frierson, her beloved husband of nearly 54 years. Cheryl was more than a mother; she was a fierce and dedicated guardian to her cherished children, Chuck and Penny. She welcomed Kimberly as her own wholeheartedly, sharing her boundless love. Cheryl took immense pride in her role as grandmother to Rowdy, Chance, and Annabelle, savoring every precious moment with them.
Cheryl's memory lives on through her cherished family: husband, Gary; children, Chuck, Penny, and Kimberly; grandchildren, Rowdy, Chance, and Annabelle; sisters, Kathy, Donna, and Louise; brother, Alan; nephews, Taggart, Keith, Nathan, Brandon and Ryan; and nieces, Rebecca and Leslie.
She is preceded in death by her father, Willie Muzny; her mother, Betty Lambright; her mother-in-law, June Muzny; and her sister, Nancy Louis.
To celebrate Cheryl's life and the profound loyalty, love, and protective spirit she demonstrated for her family, we cordially invite you to join us for a meaningful memorial service brimming with vibrant stories and cherished memories. Following the service, let us pay homage to Cheryl's unwavering commitment to hospitality by coming together for a meal, just as she would have wished.
Cheryl Lynn Frierson was an unwavering beacon of love and loyalty, and her radiant spirit will forever illuminate our lives. Although she has bid us farewell, her legacy of family unity and boundless devotion will forever remain etched in our hearts. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her memory continue to inspire.
Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at Waltrip Funeral Directors, 1415 Campbell Road, Houston, Texas 77055. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday in the RL Waltrip Venue at Waltrip Funeral Directors. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
