Cpl Monico “Monty” Perez III, 51, of Humble, Texas passed away peacefully at

home on Tuesday morning June 4, 2019. Monico battled Stage 4 Lung Cancer with true heroism, he was the definition of valor and strength. As he was called home he was surrounded by family and friends, a true testament of the impact he had on so many.

Cpl Monico “Monty” Perez III was born on November 20, 1967 in Long Beach, California to Monico Perez II and Sally Dolores Perez. Monico was the youngest of five and the only boy. Cpl Monico Perez III graduated from Long Beach Polytechnic High School Class of 1985. While in high school he was very active in the ROTC program. Shortly, after graduation at the young age of 17 and to his parents dismay he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. in Los Angeles, California. While in the Marine Corps he received, Rifle Expert Badge, Good Conduct Medal

and the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon. After four year in the Marine Corps and four year in Reserves he was Honorably Discharged. “Sempre Fi” is his Motto and he has never stopped living by the Marine Corps values.

In August of 1989 he moved to the Lonestar State and found his place in Humble, Texas where he remained. While in Texas he joined the Knights of Columbus, worked in construction, carpentry and remodeling. He started a business named “BackYard Basics”. Monico was a skilled carpenter and eventually began working at Lowe's Home Improvement

where he was a valued partner. Monico often used his trade to volunteer his time to remodel schools and boys centers. As life goes on Monico fathered five amazing children four girls and one boy. These children helped make him the man he became. That is a man who never met a stranger, loved unconditionally, and had a heart of gold. He always had a way of making people feel like they were the most important and would do anything for them. Monico loved his family and friends to a fault. He was also very passionate about the Marine Corps, Karaoke, Texans, Astros, Oldies and California. He never lost his love for California but he has always had a heart as big as Texas. As the years go by, Monico met his amazing wife Tina Marie Perez on September 21, 2003. His love for Karaoke allowed him to serenade the love of his life as she

became his rock. The love they shared was without a doubt a gift from God. Cpl Monico “Monty” Perez III was a family man, a soldier, a teacher and an amazing human being who will be dearly missed but never forgotten and that is because he touched so many hearts.

Cpl Monico Perez III is preceded in death by Sally Dolores Perez (Mother), Monico Perez II (Father) and Monica A.

Operchuck (Sister).

He is Survived by his wife Tina M. Perez, his five children, Cynthia D. Perez, Jamie C. Perez Sackett (Johnathan Sackett),

Monico Perez IV, Serenity M. Perez, Hope T. Perez. His Grandchildren Grayson J.P. Bourland, Esther A. Sacket. His

Siblings Rosario R. Foster, Katherine M. Stoltz, Sally D. Ohlsen. His In-Laws, Aunts, Uncles and multiple cousins, nieces

and nephews.

Funeral arrangements will be held at 11:00 A.M., June 11, 2019, at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home 13102 North
