Curtis Henley’s imagination and vitality filled the world with radiance. With a flare that only he possessed, he added a sparkle of magic and humor to every situation. There are no words to express how greatly he will be missed.
Curtis’s life started on December 19, 1955, when he was born to Robert Henley and Mary Harmon in Houston, TX. He later gained a second mother, Rosemary Henley, who he was close to and became his best friend.
Curtis was known for his brilliance and open mind. He was an avid reader and soaked up information with great detail. He enjoyed folklore, mythology, painting, music, and metaphor - weaving these aspects into how he saw and shared the world with others.
Curtis also loved fishing in the bay. When he was on the pier with a line in the water and his “boombox jamming” - all of the rest of the world and any problems he had would fade away.
Curtis Wayne Henley, 68, of Houston, TX, passed away on November 6, 2024. While his physical body is now at rest, his spirit has become one with the Divine.
Curtis is predeceased by Mary Harmon (mother), Rosemary Henley (second mother), Connie Lynn Smith (sister), and Vickie Roberts (sister).
He is survived by Robert Henley (father), Brenda Roberts (sister), Ronnie Henley (brother), Terrell Henley (brother), and Rose Confessore (sister). Even though he never had biological children, he was integral in raising and creating a magical childhood for his niece, Brandi Henley.
Curtis was unlike any other person you had or would ever meet, and those who were blessed to know him will always remember his life force.
Curtis always found something to smile about - and would make people laugh even when they thought they couldn’t. He was a natural helper and giver - full of heart in a nurturing and caring way. Curtis was a patient teacher and advice-giver - who always helped others believe in their potential. He never met a stranger - his friendliness and free-spirited nature couldn’t be rivaled.
Curtis Henley’s flame will continue to burn in the hearts of those whose lives he touched, and his soul and love will live forevermore.
