

Born on August 7, 1972, in Pasadena, Texas, Cynthia was the beloved daughter of John S. Griswold and Elizabeth Griswold. In 1979, her family moved to Deer Park, where she grew up and graduated from Deer Park High School in 1991.
Cynthia was a licensed hair stylist for over 30 years, known not only for her skill, but for the warmth and conversation she brought to every appointment. Her clients quickly became friends, and her salon chair became a space for connection, laughter, and encouragement. She retired in 2021 after undergoing ACDF surgery, but her impact carried on far beyond the salon.
Cynthia was also a passionate entrepreneur. She worked at Hallmark, was a Document Control Specialist at Benchmark Electrical Solutions, and later found her sparkle as a Lead Consultant for Scentsy and Brand Ambassador with NuSkin Beauty and Wellness. She joined Scentsy in 2018 and poured her heart into it - first selling to clients in her salon, and later building a full-time business she ran from home while RVing across the country with her husband.
"My Scentsy why?" she's day. "I'm just out sprinkling Scentsy everywhere I go." Whether it was her love for scent layering or her deep belief in the company's mission to Warm the Heart, Enliven the Senses, and Inspire the Soul, Cynthia made every room a little brighter and every heart feel a little warmer, And with NuSkin, she proudly shared her favorite products and loved telling people "Everyone is shocked when i tell them my real age!"
On December 12, 2020, Cynthia married the love of her life, Alexandrick Urdaneta, in La Porte, Texas. Together they embraced adventure, traveling in their RV for over 4.5 years for Alexandrick's work, living life with joy and love.
She was the proud mother of Alec Miller, and excited to welcome his fiancee Sarah Daniels into the family. She was also a devoted bonus mom to Saul Urdaneta and Mauricio Urdaneta.
Cynthia was a woman of strong faith and a member of First Presbyterian Church Pasadena, where she was pastored by Rev. Fairfax Fair. She was also a cherished sister in the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Xi Zeta Xi chapter, where she shared sisterhood, service, and lifelong friendships.
More than anything, Cynthia was a follower of Christ. She lived her life with grace, generosity, and faith - and her family finds deep peace in knowing she is now with the Lord.
She is survived by her parents, John S. and Elizabeth Griswold; her brother, John A. Griswold; her sister-in-love, Kimberly Griswold; her mother-in-law, Rosalba De Urdaneta; her brothers-in-law, Laurenzy Urdaneta and Giancarlo Urdaneta; Giancarlo's wife, Maria de Urdaneta; and family member Maria Gabriela Graterol.
She is also survived by many nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and dear friends across the United States. Cynthia never met a stranger. Cynthia had an infectious smile that touched everyone who met her or was graced with her presence. He joy was sincere, and her presence lit up every room she entered.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; her father-in-law, Nicolas Urdaneta; her uncle, Robert Griswold; her cousin Dustin Griswold; and her sister-in-law, Stacey Griswold.
In her final moments, Cynthia was cared for with compassion and dignity. Her family extends heartfelt thanks to the HCA Emergency Department, La Porte Police Department for their professionalism, care, and kindness during her last moments.
Cynthia's legacy is one of joy, resilience, connection, and light. She lived with open arms and an open heart, and her presence will be missed beyond words.
Her faith was strong, and her soul is at peace - rejoicing in the presence of her Savior.
