

D. Elizabeth (Libby) Weatherford Lee was born in Bryan, Texas August 8, 1918 to Albert Sydney Weatherford and Nannie Maude Gray. She was preceded in death by her husband and the true “Love of her Life”, Clayton Floyd Lee, Jr. on April 23, 2002 and her three sisters, Mary Lou Heinze, Gwendolyn Honeycutt and Alma Wingo of Waco, Texas. Survivors include nephew Adrian Wingo, and Wife Cynthia and their children, Michelle and Christopher Wingo, Stepchildren, Clayton Lee and wife Linda, Grady Lee and wife Susan, Carol Andrews, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She attended Helms Elementary School, Alexander Hamilton Junior-High School, and John H. Reagan High School. One of her proudest moments was the day she was elected to be the Drum Major of the Reagan Red Coats for the fall of 1935 and spring of 1936.
Libby was a life-long member of Baptist Temple Church, Houston, TX, where she sang in the choir for thirty-three years, and a charter member of the “Lifeline” Sunday school class, Member of the Houston Heights Woman’s Club, Member and Past –President of the Houston Heights Women in Rotary, and Past President of Women’s Auxiliary to “Plumbing and Mechanical Contractors.” She was presented a “Life” Membership to the Texas Congress of Parents and Teachers Association in 1958 by the K. Smith Elementary School. Libby was a member of the Houston Heights Association where she and Clayton participated in many activities and she chaired the “Centennial Banquet” in 1991. She was also a Past Recipient of the “Marcella Perry” award in 1992.
Graveside Services will be at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale Ave., Houston, Texas 77023, on Wednesday , November 20, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Chris Bryan officiating. . Honorary Pallbearers are Mrs. Jack Beauchamp and Family, Gaudencia Blanco, Frank Daily, Andy Lankford, Clayton Lee Jr., Grady Lee, Zachary Lee, Members of the Lifeline Class, Roberto & Georgina Murguia, Fernando and Claudia Murguia, and Robert Murguia families of Mexico City.
