Dat is predeceased by his parents Dinh and Khang Nguyen, his brothers Chi Cao, Loc and Tai, his sisters Mai Anh & Lan Huong.
Dat is survived by his loving wife Phuong Lan of 60 years. They were married in Saigon, Vietnam on August 8, 1960.
Dat is lovingly remembered by his sons Steve and Larry, his daughters Laura, Monica and Helen. His grandchildren Chelsea, Oliver, Sophie, Megan, Mathew, Mckenzie, Devon and Logan. And his many nieces & nephews.
Dat was born in Lang Son, Vietnam on February 14, 1933. He graduated from Albert Sarraut High School, Ha Noi, studied at Government School Quoc Gia Hanh Chanh, went on to earn a Law Degree from Dai Hoc Luat Khoa, Saigon and served in Military School Si Quan Tru Bi, Thu Duc. He worked as a Lawyer in Vietnam, a Miner at Potash Company of America in Saskatoon, Canada, an Electrician at Sprecher & Schuh in Houston and Probation Officer for Harris County prior to retiring in 1999.
Dat enjoyed singing, performing & playing guitar, recording songs, traveling, going to the beach, swimming & playing tennis, watching basketball, soccer, tennis and spending time with family & friends.
The visitation will be held at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home and Cemetery, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060 on February 22, 2020 from 10am – 2pm. Family & Friends are invited to speak in remembrance at 12 Noon. Burial to follow at 3pm.
