

David was born on December 25, 1958, in Houston, Texas, to Dorothy and Theodore Ashmore. He was preceded in death by his parents, his former wife Tamara Ashmore, and his half-brother Robert Ashmore. He grew up in the Heights area of Houston where he excelled in academics and athletics.
David is survived by his two children, Katie Bostock and her husband Kevin, and Matt Ashmore and his wife Amanda. He was a devoted and proud grandfather to Miley and Miles, who were the light of his life. He is also survived by his brother Paul Ashmore and wife Sandra, along with his beloved nieces and nephews Jon, Chris, Philip and his wife Leah, Stephanie, and Sherry.
David earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Houston Baptist University, attending from 1978 to 1981. He went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston from 1981 to 1985. David practiced dentistry for 41 years, a career marked oy dedication, integrity, and genuine care for his patients.
In 1990, David became the owner of Westfield Dental Center, where he served the community with compassion and professionalism until illness forced his retirement. He was proud of the practice he built and the relationships he formed over decades of service. He worked alongside his partner, Jason Derr, and was a longtime member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, and the Greater Houston Dental Society.
Outside of his profession, David loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and treasured time spent at the family lake house, where he found peace and joy surrounded by nature and family.
