David Eugene Jahnke

David Eugene Jahnke, born February 2, 1954, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2025, at the age of 71. He was a kind-hearted, loyal, and selfless man who found tremendous joy in helping others. As a devoted friend, loving father, and grandfather, his adventurous spirit and warm generosity touched everyone he encountered.

For over three decades, David served as a Firefighter for the City of Houston. He was a loyal friend and brother in service who established lifelong relationships during this time.

David’s proudest roles were that of husband, father, PawPaw, and Pop. He is survived by his brother John Jahnke; sons Zech, Micah, and Jason Jahnke; daughter Morgan Jahnke; daughters-in-law Vicki and Deborah Jahnke; aunt Phyllis Kennedy; grandson Ian Jahnke; and “Pop” to Brody and Cam. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Terri Jahnke, and siblings Gary Jahnke and Jan Wedgeworth.

David’s favorite days were spent outdoors. He loved fishing adventures with his friends, kids, and grandkids; rock-hunting trips alongside his brother John; exploring remote regions with his daughter Morgan; and supporting his kids and grandkids in their sporting events.

A Gathering will be held at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home and Cemetery, located at 13102 North Fwy, Houston, Texas, 77060, on July 27, 2025, at 1:00 pm. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will follow at Earthman Resthaven at 2:00 pm.
