David Rankin

David was the first son of David Thomas Fraser Rankin and his wife Elizabeth, followed 8 years later by a second son, David's brother Robert.

David and his brother Robert were raised in the Gilmerton area of Edinburgh.

After school, David started an apprenticeship with an electrical equipment repair company in Edinburgh. While living in Edinburgh, David and his first wife Joyce had two children, a daughter Joanne and 3 years later a son Paul.

In 1983, Davids career then took the family to Aberdeen, Scotland where David began his career in the oil & gas industry, the family lived there until 1997 when David's career then took him overseas.

David's international career started in Bangkok, then moved on to Paris & Singapore before moving to Houston in 2001.

While living in Houston, David married his second wife Yim in 2004, they then had a daughter Zoe in 2010.

David is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his brother, Robert; daughter, Joanne; son, Paul; wife, Yim Hung Tsui; and daughter, Zoe.

A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Heights Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 10:00 AM in the morning. A reception will immediately follow in the Waltrip Room of Heights Funeral Home.
