

Dean Allan Box, 61, of Brookshire, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025. Born on December 6, 1963, Dean lived a life filled with joy, friendship, and meaningful work that touched the hearts of all who knew him.
Dean resided in Houston, Spring, Montgomery, and Brookshire throughout his life. At age 28, he found his true home at The Brookwood Community Assisted Living, where he became a beloved member of the community for over three decades. There, he forged lasting friendships with fellow citizens and staff members who cherished his warm spirit and kind nature.
Dean took great pride in his work at Brookwood, particularly in the propagation workshop where he helped grow the beautiful poinsettias that brightened countless homes each Christmas season. He was deeply proud of the items created by Brookwood citizens and shared with the community. Among his favorite pastimes were visits to the Brookwood Café, where he savored good food and coffee, as well as outings to bowling alleys, concerts, sporting events, and movies.
Dean's faith was an important part of his life. As a teenager, he came to the Lord and was baptized at Spring Branch Community Church in Houston, Texas.
He is survived by his loving mother, Mary Box; his sister, Dee Anna Pittman; his brother, Danny Box and sister-in-law Kathy Box; his stepbrother, Jeff Casinger; and numerous nieces and nephews who will treasure his memory. Dean was preceded in death by his sister, Sherry Martin; his father, Andy Box; and his stepmother, Linda Box, who welcomed him home to Heaven.
Services
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 14th, 2025, at 3:30 p.m. at The Brookwood Community, 1752 FM 1489, Brookshire, TX 77423.
A Graveside Service for family will be held at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery, 13102 North Freeway, Houston, TX 77060, at 11AM on Monday, December 15.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to The Brookwood Community, 1752 FM 1489, Brookshire, TX 77423.
