Dolores M. Rodriguez, age 90, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026. She was born on September 13, 1935, in Houston, Texas, where she spent her early years before later making Katy, Texas her home for much of her senior life.
Dolores was largely self-taught, intelligent, resilient, and had a strong work ethic throughout her life. In her early years, she worked as a seamstress, a role that reflected her creativity, patience, and attention to detail.
On June 18, 1955, Dolores married Pedro Rodriguez, in Houston, Texas. There, Dolores devoted herself fully to being a housewife and raising their six children. Her family was the center of her world, and she took great pride in nurturing, guiding, and
loving them unconditionally.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, Antonio Marquez and Rosa Martinez, and by her beloved children, Mary Helen Szyszkowski and Louis Rodriguez.
She is survived by her children Pete Rodriguez Jr., Lillie Razo, Gilbert & Sylvia Rodriguez, and Roy Rodriguez, as well as 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson, all of whom she cherished deeply.
A devoted Christian, Dolores lived her life guided by faith, kindness, and compassion. She found joy in word search puzzles, loved music, dancing, and greatly enjoyed traveling. Above all else, she loved her family and treasured every moment spent with
them.
Dolores will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, sweet heart, and loving nature — a woman whose warmth and grace left a lasting impact on generations.
