Sending love and blessings to Donald J Henderson, aged 78, of Houston,Texas, as he journeys toward the light. Donald passed away on December 16, 2023 of natural causes, and is survived by two daughters: Ena Rodriguez and Catherine Sanders, both residing in Colorado. After serving in the Navy, Don had a long career with Hyatt Hotels, managing properties across the U.S. His lengthy tenure managing the Downtown Houston Hyatt was both a commercial success and a clear demonstration of his intent to make each guest and employee feel seen, heard, and valued.

Don loved Houston. He was a key figure in Hospitality and Downtown Development for many decades, serving as Chairman and Chairman Emeritus of the Greater Houston Convention and

Visitors Bureau, Chairman of the Texas Bowl, as well as serving on the boards of the Downtown Management District and Houston Partnership. Don was also gracious with his time and connections for many charitable organizations over the years.

He was a handsome, charming guy. A quick wit. A beautiful singing voice. A devoted husband. And a convincing, determined man. To his daughters, he was almost a mythic being whose feet barely touched the ground. He was adored… and will be missed far, far more than he would have ever imagined.
