Lucille was born to Isom and Opal Chisum on August 25, 1926 in Mexia, Texas. She was a graduate of Norris City High School. Lucille married Jack Gossett during World War II when he was a United States Navy pilot. After the war, she was a homemaker living around the country, Puerto Rico and Belgium. She settled in the Spring Branch area of Houston over 50 years ago and was a member of First Baptist Church Spring Branch.
Lucille worked at the Spring Branch Tax Office, Spring Branch Credit Union, Valley Machine Shop and finally retiring in 1994 from a law office.
Lucille was devoted to her family, was charitable, a good friend to many and always one to help others. She is survived by her Son, Patrick Taylor Gossett; Grandson, Rapeepong Tyler Gossett; Daughter-in-Law, Anyanist Gossett and many dear friends.
The family would like to extend a special “thank you” to the staff of Brookdale Spring Shadows. Their compassion and caring during her stay there was appreciated more than they will know.
Family and friends will gather and share memories of this wonderful woman, during a memorial gathering from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Waltrip Funeral Directors, 1415 Campbell Road in Houston, 77055.
