At age 17 she married Cecil Harley Clem and had her 3 children Sylvester Marty Clem, Harley Wayne Clem, and Candice Michelle Clem (Strother). At age 34 she got divorced and worked various jobs to raise her children. Years later, she married again to Lloyd Hicks in 1979 and lived in Tomball, TX until they divorced in 1989. From there she moved to the 1960 and Willowbrook area of Spring, TX.
Doris worked as a nanny and an elder caregiver. She also opened her own sitter agency and ran her own business. She believed in God from her time spent growing up in the Pentecostal Religion. She loved helping people, country music, and most of all her family. After she retired, she took care of her first born Marty until he entered into rest. Doris then lived the rest of her life in the care of her daughter Candice Michelle Strother and son-in-law Alloyed Ottowayne Strother.
