Dorothy Lucille Bear

Dorothy was born to Myron and Lucile Dickey, November 15, 1933, in Houston, Texas. She attended Milby High School where she met her spouse Sidney Maurice Bear Jr. They married in March 1951, and raised three children in Houston, TX. They retired to Lake Livingston where she enjoyed fishing, hosting fish fries and traveling around the United States in their RV.

She is survived by: Kathy & Mike Lay, Connie & David Sipp and Sidney & Christi Bear. She had three grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by Sidney Maurice Bear Jr., husband, Myron Ivan Dickey, her brother and parents Myron and Lucile Dickey.

Dorothy sold Avon when the children were in grade school to supplement the household income. Later she worked at American Mortgage Company as their Mortgage Insurance manager. She enjoyed sewing, oil painting, cooking, playing cards, and playing domino. The past seven years she was a resident at Woodhaven Village where she enjoyed playing Bingo and Sundae Sunday's.

A visitation will be held at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home on March 31, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm in the Grand Chapel. A committal service will take place at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, on March 31, 2026, at 12:00 pm. The family would also like to thank Woodhaven Village and Devotion Healthcare for helping her pass peacefully.
