

Dorothy Earline Davis was born May 14, 1950 to Mr. and Mrs. Earl L. Davis, Sr. She was born to Christian parents who loved the Lord and taught Dorothy to love the Lord. Dorothy was baptized at the age of six by Reverend Fred L. Dickey at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where she was a member until she moved to Los Angeles, California. Dorothy attended Fourth Missionary Baptist Church Pre-School. She then went to Primary school at Douglas Elementary in Houston, Third Ward, where she excelled in all her studies. Her IQ was exceptional and she bordered on genius. She was an honor student at Ryan Junior High School and Jack Yates Senior High School. Dorothy was a Ryan Kadette and active in the Yates Christian Student Club. Dorothy was loved by all, including students and teachers. Dorothy attended Houston Baptist University on a full academic scholarship in Nursing until she left Houston and pursued a career in Law Enforcement. Dorothy married Mr. J. Borden in California and to this union one son was born, Jamie Borden. Jamie and Mr. Borden preceded her in death. After returning to Houston, Dorothy later married Mr. Carl Lewis, who also preceded her in death. Dorothy leaves to mourn two brothers Earl Lincoln Davis, Jr. and Robert Johnson, Jr.; two sisters Lois Butler Meek and Lillian Harrington; two step sisters Geraldine Gillum and Angela Brown, all of Houston, Texas; one niece Juanita Johnson, one grand niece Daurius Johnson; one cousin Jueretta Berry and a host of cousins and friends in Houston and Los Angeles.
