

Dorothy Marie Theis Mills, passed away on March 15, 2011. She was born June 18, 1917 to Nora Anna Kaufman Theis and Herman John Theis in Sour Lake, Texas. Dorothy grew up in San Antonio, Texas where she met and married LeClare Mills. They were married 63years until his death in 2001. Her grandfather was a Civil War Confederate Veteran and lived in the Huntstock house in San Antonio with Dorothy and her mother and two aunts. After World War II, Dorothy and Lee lived in California where she was active in the PTA. She played the piano on Saturday mornings with Nancy and Bob at the community hall. After moving to Houston, Dorothy worked at Maintenance Engineering Co. and Lukens Steel. She was a member of 8th Church of Christ, Scientist in Houston. She was an avid reader and enjoyed her time sending emails on the computer, was a member of a square dance club, hooked rugs and did some oil painting. Dorothy is survived by her son Robert L. Mills, and her daughter, Nancy M. Guidry, her son-in-law Wayne Guidry, daughter-in-law Norma Mills, her grandchildren Kim Jasman, Kristy Kelly, Jessica Anderson, and Travis Guidry as well as two great grandchildren, Ethan Jasman and Jacob Jasman, two nieces, a nephew and various grand nieces and nephews. She had a long full life being 93 when she died.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at Waltrip Funeral Directors on Tuesday evening, March 22, 2011 from 6 to 8 pm.
