Edna Cecilia Barrera

August 14, 1995 – June 1, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Edna Cecila Barrera, who left us far too soon on June 1, 2025, in her hometown of Houston, Texas. She was 29 years old. Born and raised in Houston, Edna lived life with boldness, energy, and an unmistakable love for the people and moments that mattered most to her.

She loved celebrating life in all its forms, whether through laughter with friends and family, dancing without hesitation, or capturing special moments in photographs and videos that now serve as cherished keepsakes.

Edna is preceded in death by her mother, Leticia Barrera, whose memory remained a strong presence in her life. Maternal Grandmother Alicia Campos, Paternal Grandmother Fidencia Palomo de Barrera.

She is survived by her husband, Victor Carrizal, and their three children, Victor Ethan Carrizal, Sebastian Lauro Carrizal, and Valeria Leticia Carrizal, who were her greatest pride and joy.

She is also survived by her father Lauro Barrera and by her siblings: Erica Alicia Barrera, Laura Barrera, Raymond Barrera, Sheyla Leticia Barrera, Ariana Yaslin Barrera, and Adrian Emiliano Barrera; and by her nieces and nephews: Jayden Elijah Rios, Adalyn Elyssa Ibarra, Ricardo Adrian Ibarra, Natalie Moya, Jerry Christina Moya, and Lailanni Sanchez. Along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Though her time here was brief, Edna lived with an unforgettable spark and a love for life that will live on through the memories she created and the people who knew her best.

A visitation for Edna will be held Tuesday, June 10, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A funeral visitation will occur Wednesday, June 11, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, June 11, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A committal service will occur Wednesday, June 11, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at External Service Location, 6900 Lawndale St, Houston, TX 77023.
