Emma May Thames of Houston, Texas passed away on September 11, 2024, at the age of 101. She was born on May 10, 1923, in Chickasaw, Oklahoma, born and raised on a farm with brothers sharing chores. She later met her husband Norris Thames at a military hospital during World War II. They later got married in 1944, and soon after moved to Houston, Texas.
She was member of The First Baptist Church of Genoa for more than 40 years. She was also a member of the Eastern Stars. Emma was known to be a godly woman who read her bible daily.
She preceded her husband Norris Thames, parents, and brothers.
She was a kind and loving aunt to her nieces and nephews and was always ready to have a meal with us, and was surrounded by family until the very end. Emma May Thames will be dearly missed.
