Erna Kreutner Griffith

Erna Marie Griffith passed away at the blissful age of 89 in The Woodlands, TX, on Saturday October 10th, 2015 at 9:09 pm of natural causes. She was born on August 18th, 1926 in Egelsdorf, Austria. She was a loving and delightful daughter to two loving parents, a caring sister to Anna Marie Cresnik, Hanna Lorie and her stepbrother, which raised her, Anton “Tony” Fladerer. Her Step dad owned a grape and apple orchard and whenever he made apple wine he would let her taste it. She won numerous metals in swimming for making 1st place. She came to America in 1951 with her three children, Renate, Erna and Veronika; her boyfriend and the father of her children, Alex Jackson who became her husband later the very same year but subsequently divorced him in 1975, she then remarried to John Phillip Griffith “Papa John” in 1977, who preceded her in death in 1989; she always said, “It was love at first sight.” She would work jobs ironing, sewing, cleaning houses, and babysitting, always saving her dimes, that she then used to put the down payment on her first home. She then worked at Wal-Mart for 20 years, impacting people’s lives everyday that she worked with her personality and humor. She was a gracious mother to and survived by her five daughters; Renate Teal, Erna Jackson, Veronika Litvak, Bernadette Ostroff and Pauline Fletcher; she was an extraordinary grandmother to Robert Brzymialkiewicz, Alexander Brzymialkiewicz, Jacquelyn Brzymialkiewicz, Robbie Roshto, Heidi Jackson, David Lentini, Makalen Fletcher, Breanna Fletcher, Christina Fletcher and Alexander James Fletcher. She was an exceptionally phenomenal great grandmother to Andrew Brzymialkiewicz, Matthew Thomas, Wyatt Brzymialkiewicz, Amanda Teal, Sarah Brzymialkiewicz, Brandi Dubose, Lilly Roshto, Clayton Dubose, Brittany Brzymialkiewicz, Robert Dubose, Adam Brzymialkiewicz, Michelle Erna McWhorter and Jayce Torres; as well as a tender great great grandmother to Gwen Brzymialkiewicz. Predeceased by her two children, Michael Jackson in October of 1946 and Gracie Lee Jackson in February of 1963. Erna Griffith’s viewing will take place on October 17th, 2015 at 12:30 pm, with her funeral following the same day at 2:00 pm. This will be held at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home at 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060
