Ernestine Loraine Daniels

Ernestine Loraine Daniels, 66, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 23, 2013, in Port Arthur, TX. She was born December 8, 1946, to the late Mr. Ernest Warren Daniels and the late Sis. Lou Wilder Daniels Norris in Houston, TX, where she resided her entire life. She was a proud graduate of Jack Yates Senior High School and a member of the Jordan Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Her career includes twenty dedicated years of service to Texas State Optical (TSO), ten of her best years of employment with Drs. Hargrove and Florence Wooten and six years with Dow Corning Trust Settlement. "Steen" was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Edwin L. Daniels; her grandfather, Mr. Edward Jason; grandmother, Sis. Fannie Griffin, step-mother, Mrs. Lillian Daniels, and several uncles, aunts, relatives and friends. "Steen" leaves, to cherish her memory, her beloved son whom she loved second to God only, Bro. Terry Jason Daniels (Araina); grandsons Joshua Aaron and Jeremy Allen Daniels and the granddaughters she inherited, Kennedy and Kaylee Sanders all of Port Arthur, TX; and one brother, Mr. Norrissell A. Daniels and family, of Atlanta, GA. She is also lovingly missed by her adored sister-daughter, Sis. Deanna R. Lewis; her favorite sister-cousin, Sis. Sylvia Luchin of Houston; her family in Port Arthur, the Youngs, Williams, Sanders and Pilettes; her honorary daughter from God, Bobby Johnson and sons; the father of her son and his family, Mr. Edgar (Betty) Hodge, to whom she was very close, of Crosby, TX, and host of other relatives and friends. Services for Ms. Daniels have been scheduled as follows: Wake - Friday, June 28, 2013, 7 - 9 PM, Carl Barnes Funeral Home, 746 W. 22nd St. Houston, TX; Visitation and services - Saturday, June 29, 2013, Jordan Grove MBC, 2603 Anita St. Houston, TX. Visitation 11 AM, Services 12 PM. Pastor Danny Davis, officiating.
