

A Time to Live On July 25, 1934, God blessed Mr. Joe and Helen Washington with a bouncing baby girl, Ernestine Washington the 5th of 8 children. A Time to Serve Sis Washington accepted Christ at an early age with Brown Chapel. She united with Faith Missionary Baptist Church serving faithfully in the choir for twenty two years. She later united with Gloryland Missionary Baptist Church. Even in sickness she continued her relationship with God through Mt Zion Family Worship Center. A Time to Learn Ernestine was educated in the Houston Independent School District. Graduating from Booker T. Washington High School, formerly known as Color High School. A Time to Love Ernestine met and married Mr. Charles Thompson; four kids were born to this union. Ernestine is preceded in death by her parents Joe and Helen Washington, three sisters, Evelyn Barly, Virginia Ann Prophet and Ann Cary, two brothers, Joseph Washington and George Washington, one son Derrol Washington, one son n law Tommy Lovett. Two grandkids, Elvin Washington, and Shavarear Golden. Left to cherish her memories are one sister Rose Marie Woolridge, one brother Milton Ray Washington. Six sons; Grady Washington (Senka), Cedric Washington (Kim), Lorenzo Washington, Ernest Thompson (Zena), Marcus Thompson, and Roderick Thompson. Four daughters; Jacqueline Massingill (Anthony), Peggy Lovett, Lawanda Washington, and Helen Washington. She raised two grandkids Yokima Arias Lisenby and Kendrick Washington. She also leaves to mourn twenty-nine other grandkids, thiry-five great grandkids, one great great grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends.
