Ester A. Garcia

Ester Arguelles Garcia, 92, of Houston, Texas, passed away on February 14th, 2025, surrounded by her loving children and family. She was born in Chalma Veracruz, Mexico on April 6th, 1932, to Eustacio Arguelles and Altagracia Vera and came to the United States at the age of 15.

Ester settled in Houston, Texas on Everton Street where she raised her five children which were her pride and joy. She instilled honor, respect, loyalty, and God in the lives of her children & grandchildren. Ester was a devout Catholic who loved spreading the word of God to anyone who would welcome it.

She enjoyed gardening, going for walks, visiting neighbors, and celebrating milestones with her family in the home she built. Ester will always be remembered by her family and friends as a very loving, giving, and caring mother, grandmother, neighbor, and friend.

She was preceded in death by her father, Eustacio Arguelles, her mother, Altagracia Vera, brothers, Roberto Arguelles Vera, Juan Arguelles Vera, Alejandro Arguelles Vera, Leonardo Sanchez Vera, and her daughter, Maria Guadalupe Garcia.

She is survived by son, Daniel Garcia, and wife, Lucia Garcia, daughter Maria E Nelson and husband, Bruce Nelson, daughter Amada Davila and husband, Saul Davila, and son, Arturo Garcia Jr., and wife, Crystal Garcia. She is also survived by grandchildren, Gilberto Alejandro Garcia, Nadia Angelique Davila, Diana Campos, Iris Garcia, Ivette Garcia, and Lilly Garcia.

The Garcia Family would like to thank Houston Hospice for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in her final days.

A Visitation for Ester will be held Monday, February 24, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 4015 Sherman St, Houston, TX 77003 with a rosary at 6:30 PM. Immediately following the visitation, the family of Ester Garcia invites all guests to an open reception in the church hall where light refreshments and dinner will be served. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, February 25, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 4015 Sherman St, Houston, TX 77003.
