

F. Jesse Williams, III, was born in Port Washington, New York on Sunday, August 8, 1943, to parents, Francis Jesse Williams, Jr. and Elsie Regina (Cavanaugh) Williams. He passed away in Houston, Texas on Saturday, August 9, 2014, at the age of 71.
Jesse retired from "the phone company," after 37 years of service. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Southwestern University and his Master of Science Degree from the University of Texas, Austin.
In 1968, as a man who loved his country, Jesse enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He volunteered for two tours in Vietnam and was honorably discharged from active duty in 1971. He continued serving in the United States Marine Corps Reserves, earned the rank of Captain and was again, honorably discharged, in 1978.
Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Paulette, and three siblings. He is survived by his devoted wife, Cheryl S. Williams; sons, Travis J. Williams and Whitney J. Williams; step daughters, Cheri and Jennifer; granddaughters, Allison and Brenna; his sister, Barbara Packard; many other loving relatives and a host of dear friends.
Family and friends gathered for a memorial service to celebrate Jesse's life at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2014, in the sanctuary of Memorial Drive Christian Church, 11750 Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77024 (713) 789-0060.
