Fidencio "Lencho" Hernandez of Houston, Texas passed away on July 29, 2019, at the age of 93. Fidencio was born in Bonus, Texas to Basilio and Hilaria Garcia Hernandez. All who knew Fidencio recognize him as a true gentleman who was dedicated to his family and faith. He will be remembered for his wisdom, intelligence, and sense of humor, honesty, classic sense of style, bravery, kindness, and diligent work ethic. He was an avid reader who loved to discuss current events, politics, and music. He was a devoted fan of the Houston Astros (especially Altuve), Dancing with the Stars (especially Cheryl Burke), boxing and Western movies.
Fidencio is once again joined with the love of his life, Francisca V. Hernandez, his wife of 61 years; his daughters, Jane Kalie and Yolanda Mottu; his parents; his brothers, Frank and Isidro Garcia Hernandez; his sister, Juanita Hernandez; and son-in-law, John Kalie. Those left to treasure his memory include his children, Willie Hernandez and wife, Mary, Lupe Costello and husband, Valentino, Joe Hernandez and wife, Dolores, Hilaria Martinez and husband, Pete, Basilio Hernandez and wife, Connie, Beatrice Ornelas and husband, Rick, Albert Hernandez and wife, Laura, and son-in-law, Richard Mottu. Fidencio was respected and loved by his 23 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 5 great- great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Fidencio will be missed immensely by his family, friends, neighbors and his dog, Bella.
