

Frances Rivera Hernandez of Pasadena, Texas crossed over into Paradise to meet her Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 21,2024 at the age of 78. She was born on November 3, 1946 in Genoa Texas and spent her childhood in South Houston, Texas. She graduated from South Houston High School and went on to achieve a degree in Business from San Jacinto Jr College. She worked at Quintero Furniture store and later would begin working for the Pasadena Independent School District. She worked devotedly at Kruse Elementary and after 34 years of loyal service she retired.
She was devoted to her Catholic faith and was a member of the Guadalupana Society for many years. She took great joy in sharing her faith with the children of her faith community. She was a catechist for over 40 yrs at Guardian Angel Catholic church, now known as St. Juan Diego Catholic church.
Frances is preceded in death by her parents: David and Carlota Rivera, her brother, David Rivera Jr, sisters Carmen Pena and Ramona Zavala, Guadalupe Camarena and Maria de Jesus Cantu.
She is survived by her husband of 55 yrs, Louis Hernandez, her children Laura Hernandez (Tony), Cathy Hernandez, Louis Hernandez Jr. (Rosa), and Carol Hernandez (Chris). Her grandchildren, Emma Silva, Bela Chavez, and Steve Silva Jr. She is also survived by her loving sister, Lydia Vega (Roberto) and loving brother, Margarito Rivera. She loved and adored all her many nieces and nephews and extended family.
Frances was known for her giving heart and welcoming smile to everyone she met.
The family would like to thank extended family and friends for their prayers, visits, and phone calls during her illness and ask for your continued prayers while they learn how to navigate this life without her physical presence.
