George Waters Cleland passed away at the age of 89 on Monday, August 24, 2015, at his home in Houston, Texas. Left to cherish the memories are his son and daughter-in-law, David and Linda Cleland of Woodville; his daughter, Diana Best of Houston; his brother and sister-in-law, James and Velda Cleland; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Welcoming him to his heavenly home with loving arms are his wife, June Milbourn Cleland, and his son, Douglas Calvin Cleland. George was a Naval WWII Veteran stationed at Pearl Harbor aboard the USS Coghlan (DD-606). After 26 years, he retired from W.S. Bellows Construction Company. He will be remembered lovingly through his country place in Corrigan, Texas. Visitation on Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. with funeral and graveside services on Friday, August 28, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale, Houston, Texas.
