As one of God's children, George Watson transitioned to eternal life on August 15, 2014 at 5:50 AM; when he exchanged his earthly home for his Father's heavenly home, when he began a peaceful rest in the arms of the Lord. On February 4, 1918, George Watson was born to God and loving parents, the late Richard and Cora (Lena) Pope Watson. He was one of twelve siblings, all preceded him in death. He attended Franklin Public Schools and later enlisted in the United States Armed Forces. George was employed by Flemings until his retirement. He was a member of Greater Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church for many years. George was an avid gardener and was also a member of the Houston Heights Progressive Civic Club. He leaves to cherish his memories a wife Eva Richard Watson of seventy-two years. No children were born to this union. He also leaves a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends.
