

Guy Rene Harry Carraux, born May 11, 1927 to Pascal and Renee Carraux in St. Gingolph, France, passed away June 3, 2010 in Houston, Texas. Guy was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He found the love of his life, Jody, his wife of 56 years, who preceded him in death. Guy has four wonderful sons, Guy P., Gary M., and Gregory J., who survive him, and Glenn D., who recently preceded him in death. Guy is also survived by his three beautiful daughters-in-law, Kathleen, Carol, and Denise Carraux; grandchildren, Kelly Carraux Sharpe, and Nikki, Amy, and Ben Carraux, and great-grandchildren, Hailey and Logan Sharpe.
After serving his country proudly in the U.S. Army, Guy returned to obtain a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. He spent more than 45 years working as a registered Professional Engineer and educator at the college level. In the mid-90’s, Guy retired and enthusiastically devoted himself to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed gardening and traveling to his hometown of St. Gingolph.
The family has planned a private Mass. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be sent to Guy’s preferred research foundation: The Alzheimer’s Association, 2242 West Holcombe Blvd., Houston, TX 77030-2008.
Guy will be dearly missed.
