Helen Merle Bradford OH

Born to George and Irene Bradford on November 28, 1930, in Baytown, Texas, Merle lead an eventful life filled with artistry, resilience, and love. An accomplished piano player, skilled dressmaker, and exceptional baker, she expressed herself with her hands and her heart—crafting beauty, comfort, and joy in the lives of those around her.

Merle was a Born-Again Christian whose faith was a source of strength and guidance throughout her life. She was fearless, witty, and always unapologetically herself. A devoted mother and grandmother, she poured love and care into the lives of her family.

She is preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Brenda, and her sisters, June and Geraldine. She is survived by her son, Tracy and his wife Lori; her daughter, Sherrie and her husband Jerry; and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Merle’s presence was singular, her story unforgettable, and her strength a lasting inspiration.

Family and friends are invited to attend her funeral on May 17, 2025 at 10:00 am. at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale St, Houston, TX 77023. Interment will follow at the same location. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am.
