Hermelinda Salazar age 91, of South Houston, Texas, passed away on January 22, 2024. Hermelinda was born to Emilio and Dolores Mancha on November 17, 1932, in Houston, Texas. She married Carlos Salazar in 1962, and they lived together in South Houston, Texas where they raised their two sons, John and James.
Hermelinda is survived by her husband, Carlos Salazar; son, John Salazar and wife Marissa, son, James Salazar and wife Valerie; grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, Andrea, Amber, and Addison Salazar and great grandson, Ryan Salazar. Hermelinda is also survived by her siblings, Raymond Mancha and Nelda Delao, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Hermelinda was preceded in death by her parents, Emilio and Dolores Mancha; brothers, Emilio and Gabriel Mancha; sisters, Delores Enriquez-Rojas and Irene Sanchez. Hermelinda worked for several years at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in the Pharmacy. She enjoyed several forms of arts and crafts, especially floral arranging. Hermelinda was always actively involved in events involving her children and grandchildren.
Immediately following the committal service, everyone is invited to attend a celebration of life at the residence of Carlos Salazar, 1213 Ave H. South Houston, TX 77587 for food and story sharing. The family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers.
