Irma Reyna of Houston, Texas went to be with the Lord December 17, 2023 at the age of 61. She was born November 17, 1962 in Valle Hermoso, Tamaulipas, Mexico where she was raised by her mother Maria Adela Salas and father Jose Salas Mireles. Irma found herself helping look after her siblings, Margarita, Estela, Lilia, Sergio, Everardo, Mary, and Francisco before immigrating to the United States at the age of 14.
When Irma turned 17, she met and found the love of her life, Joel Reyna. They wed in Houston, TX where she would come to bear five of his children and together devote their lives to providing a better one for each of them. In 1989, after ten years of marriage, Irma and Joel would go on to open the doors for Impact Stone Design, Inc., a natural stone fabrication business they decided to start in their backyard. With Irma at the forefront of the business and Joel behind her, they would become the prominent industry name Impact Stone is known for today.
While Irma enjoyed success in their business, she found a calling to volunteer through her passion for service through Christ. Having been a member of Lakewood Church since 2001, she began volunteering for the Host Service Team in 2015. She loved introducing and greeting new visitors and members to the church, some who would go on to give their life to Christ. She eventually began leading a team of volunteers and after having shared meaningful service, formed a bond with them which would become her spiritual support group.
Irma enjoyed gathering her family in her home where she would cook wholesome meals and spend time with all of her children and grandchildren. When she wasn’t preparing a home cooked meal, she enjoyed the occasional Spanky’s pizza and wings. But nothing warmed her heart more than having everyone together for the holidays. She also found joy in spending time with her sisters at brunch, retelling childhood stories and sharing laughter that seemed never ending. Irma always made the most out of time spent together.
Irma is survived by her husband Joel Reyna and her children Irma Torres, Joel Reyna Jr., Veronica Reyna, Victoria Adela Lara, and Eduardo Reyna. She was proud to love her son-in-laws Toño, Erik, and daughter-in-law Anai like her very own. She will always be loved and remembered by her ten grandchildren Lani, Toñito, Joey, Erikito, Eliseo, Elena, Israel, Sebastian, Olivia, and Valentina.
The family would like to thank Pastor Gabriel Contreras of IPUH Cuarta and the Lakewood en Español family for the love, compassion, and unending prayers they gave our dearest “Mom” throughout her amazing life and until her final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend her Celebration of Life service December 22nd 6pm – 10pm and Farewell service December 23rd 12pm – 2pm at IPUH Cuarta, 2835 Fay St. Houston, TX 77023.
