Irma & Theodore Perez

Theodore Perez and Wife Irma (Sanchez) Perez passed away only 5 days apart from one another. Irma Perez age 85 passed away on November 13th, 2020 at Houston Methodist Hospital Woodlands Texas due to complications with Covid 19. Theodore Perez passed away on November 18th, 2020 at HCA Hospital Tomball Texas due to heart complications and was Covid 19 positive.

Theodore was born on March 28th, 1932 in Aguas Buenas Puerto Rico and Irma (Sanchez) Perez was born on January 19th, 1937 in Sabinas Hidalgo Nuevo Leon Mexico. Both came to the United States at different times in search of a better living to support family members back in their hometowns. Theodore and Irma met each other in Chicago Illinois, Theodore worked as a local Union Teamster for a Produce Company while training to be an amateur boxer on his free time and Irma worked as a store clerk at her uncle’s family-owned grocery store. They met each other while Irma was crossing the street at a red light and Theodore was in his car waiting for the light to turn green. Theodore followed her home, asked her out on a date and the rest was history. They dated each other for 6 months, not long after were married on January 16th, 1960 in Sabinas Hidalgo Mexico. The couple were inseparable they enjoyed gardening, shopping at their favorite thrift and antique stores but their greatest joy was raising their three children. The couple did everything together they truly lived up to their marriage vows in “sickness and in health ‘til death do us part”. Theodore was a devoted husband and family man who enjoyed boxing, baseball, politics, gardening and cigars. Irma was a devoted wife and family woman who enjoyed gardening, collecting antiques, dancing, arts and crafts. This couple is a great example of true love. Through good times and hard times, they never left each other’s side. They adored one another! Their family meant everything to them and after 61 years of marriage the couple could only go five days without each other. This is truly a love story for the history books. They could not be without one another in life or in death. They will be deeply missed by their family and friends.
