Janet Lee Crain went to be with the Lord Wednesday October 9, 2019 at the age of 70. She was born December 11, 1948 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert F. Lee, Jr. and Dorothy Lee.
Janet is survived by her oldest daughter, Tonya Shinners of Prosper and her husband Scott; her youngest daughter, Latisha Ohmart of Katy and her husband Keith; her grandchildren Megan Gandel and her husband Jake, Conner Shinners, Taylor Ohmart and Regan Ohmart; and her great-granddaughter Landrie Gandel. She is survived by her brother Robert F. Lee III and her sister Charlotte Benedict. She is also survived by her niece, Lauren Bednar, 2 nephews, Chris Lee and David Lee and many dear friends and loved ones, including Pete Peaco.
Ms. Crain was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She attended Louisiana State University, graduated from Northwestern State University and belonged to the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She then moved to Houston, Texas where she entered the police academy for the Houston Police Department. After 27 years of service, Janet retired as a Sergeant from HPD. She loved to travel and was an avid golfer. She was an active member at Falcon Point Golf Club and a member of the LGA. She was a loving mother and grandmother and dear friend to many.
Visitation with the family will be held at Earthman Resthaven on Sunday October 13 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Earthman Resthaven on Monday October 14 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the 100 Club.
