Jesse William Carr passed in peace on Wednesday January 30, 2019 at The Solana Vintage Park in Houston, Texas at the age of 82. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Vera “Jane” Comeaux Carr, his sons, Kyle Carr (wife Mary Ann Crist Carr), Kevin Carr (wife Laura Hohes Carr) and Lawrence “Larry” Bauske (husband Joe Gomez), and his daughters, Keri Bauske Clarbull (husband Paul Clarbull) and Terri Bauske Holstead (husband Chris Holstead). He also has enjoyed the love and support of five granddaughters and four grandsons (Jillian, Steven, Christine, Sarah, Rebekah, Natalie, Paul, Grant, and Aiden), sisters Yvonne Carr Psencik, Marilyn Carr Hagans, Arlene Carr Hardwick, and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his first wife Mary Jo Ferguson Carr, and daughters Karen and Heather Carr.
Jesse was a lifelong Texan who spent his years in Houston and Huntsville. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who always loved his time with family and the outdoors. He learned carpentry from his father, Jesse Orlean Carr, and the importance of home and family from his mother, Pauline Mary Cernick Carr. He worked his talents in the construction industry for the City of Houston, Huntsville Corrections Department, and several school districts and private companies until 2017. He served in the Navy Reserve as an electronics technician and was called into Active Service during the Cuban Missile Crisis while starting a new family. He served his community as a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, Life Member of the National Rifle Association, and local archery clubs.
Jesse was always willing to sacrifice his time and resources for friends and family. He was always sharing kind moments and humorous stories – some even true -with anyone willing to listen. His tall tales of past deeds always had us wondering about our heritage and friendships. We will always remember him and the time he gave us on this earth - until we meet again.
We would like to thank our friends at The Solana Vintage Park for their friendship, compassion and outstanding care of Jesse over the past year and a half. Our family would like to give our sincerest gratitude to the nurses and staff with Brookdale Hospice Care who so lovingly and compassionately cared for Jesse in his final days.
