Jesus A. Ulloa

Jesus Alva Ulloa “Papi Chuy,” aged 93, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, went to be with our Lord on Monday, July 11, 2022. He was born in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico to Maria Magdalena Alva and Reymundo Ulloa. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 57 years, Francis, who was the love of his life. He was also preceded in death by his two brothers, Mario Quiroga and Enrique Ramirez, and his sisters, Concepcion Quiroga Longoria and Teresa Ramirez Gonzalez. He was a long-time resident of Houston.

Jesus was a self-taught scholar and artist. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, Francis, and children throughout Europe, Mexico, and the United States. He was a Member of La Sociedad Mutualista Obrera Mexicana, where he served as president for several years. He retired from Fabenco after 29 years of service.

Jesus is survived by his five daughters, Connie Ulloa-Velazquez (Manuel), Laura Yolanda Garrett (Pete-Ed), Rosa Maria Nunez (Jose), Paty Saucedo (Ernesto), and Beatriz Mogannam (Chris), and one son, Jesse Ulloa (Aydee).

Papi Chuy is also survived by his beloved 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. Many others adopted him as their grandfather, Papi Chuy.

Jesus was a devoted Christian, had a heart of gold, and freely gave his love and wisdom to all. He will be greatly missed by all his family, extended family and friends.

On Sunday, July 17, 2022, the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a rosary taking place at 7:00 PM, in the Grand Chapel of the Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Ave., Houston, TX 77023.

The funeral service will be held at the same location on Monday, July 18, 2022, at 10:00 AM, followed by a gravesite service.
