Good morning. My name is Annette. I am a cousin of Jimmy's. I wanted to say that Jimmy will be missed. My family is from San Antonio and came to develop a close relationship with Jimmy and Lydia because of my son, who was attending Rice University. Over the years, Jimmy and our family have visited each other on numerous occasions. I am forever grateful for Jimmy's hospitality, friendship and love. I especially appreciate the friendship and bond that had blossomed between my father, Antonio ( 85 years) and Jimmy. Jimmy's attentiveness and respect and love towards my father was priceless. My father loved playing dominos, especially with the "good old boys." My father always looked forward to playing a game with Jimmy, whether it was in San Antonio or while in Houston. It always put a smile on my father's face which kept his mind off of his own pain and troubles although temporary. Thank you Jimmy for the joy you brought into our lives. The bible says:

I believe this was Jimmy.

Miss my brother Jimmy so much it hurts, he was the greatest brother in my life, always there for me through everything, He was my hero, when he went to Vietnam he wrote me almost every other day, I prayed to God to bring him home safe, and he did . He was a strong tough guy in every way, truly a Marine. I will miss his barbeque and all the games we enjoyed together Astros, Texans , Rockets, the other thing we shared was watching Wheel of Fortune together, our favorite game. My children grandchildren and great grandchildren loved him so, my life will not be the same without him, he loved music and dancing and family get togethers. Love you brother , you are in my heart forever.

Jimmy Sr. came into my life and had a huge impact on it. His humor n laughter was just what I needed at the time though he never knew it. I have never had a father figure and he was the closest thing to it and I will forever be grateful to him for it. Losing him so suddenly was beyond heartbreaking because I was not ready to say goodbye. The short time I had with him will take me through a lifetime. He was extra special to me and that's no lie. Before him I had never met a man who cooked for his family on the regular, and full course meals at that. He was such a family oriented human being who made you feel at ease just by being himself. The constant jokes and laughs is what I'll miss the most. I thank god we cross paths when we did and one day we'll cross paths again. So I won't say goodbye but I'll see you later. Missing you so much right now. Rest in Peace Jimmy.

I miss my brother he was a very special person to me. He will be deeply missed by all. He was a very giving person to all. Lots of fun to be with all the time he enjoyed life so much it's hard to accept the reality that he will not be with us any more. Jimmy was like all his family enjoying all of Houston sports together. Houston you lost a great sports fan. We all lost a great veteran , friend, brother, cousin, nifew but you will never be forgotten. Love you brother and May the Lord bless you in his kingdom. This not good by but see you when we meet again.

We met at Edison Jr. High.  I don't think anyone would have predicted our time at Edison would lead to a lifetime friendship.   I liked school, Jimmy not so much.  Jimmy was more athletic, me not so much.  But we were similar in other ways.  We both were outgoing, competitive, liked going to dances, and we both wanted to become Marines.  We spent a lot of time together after school at each other's homes talking and sometimes staying for supper.  
When Jimmy joined the Marine Corps I wanted to go with him but I was younger than 18 years and my mom wouldn't sign to let me go.  I would join the Marines a few years later.  Jimmy and I both served in Vietnam just at different times.  I was on my way to Vietnam when Jimmy and Lydia married so I couldn't attend the wedding.  Jimmy still wanted me to have a remembrance of that day.  I received his letter in Vietnam with pictures from their wedding.  
When I discharged from the Marines we tried keeping in touch with phone calls and occasional lunch meetings.  However, with both of us raising young families and working we lost track for several years.  In 2017 we finally reconnected and when we met again it was like we had just talked the week before.  After that we stayed in touch by phone, text, and a couple more meetings.  The last time I talked with Jimmy was November 10th when I called to wish him a Happy Marine Corps Birthday.  He sounded happy even though he said his health issues were getting worst.  He told me he was leaving the hospital and would call me back once he got settled in at home.  I called his home on Christmas Eve to wish him and Lydia a Merry Christmas and found out his health had worsened since our November 10th talk.  He passed away the day after my birthday and for the first time in a while I felt so alone.  I thank God we reunited and got to spend the last couple of years together.  My deepest condolences to all the family.  Rest in peace my brother, I have the watch.  

My father loved playing dominoes with Jimmy. He looked forward to trips to Houston to spend with family, especially Jimmy. They were comrades and shared many experiences.
Jimmy was more than a nephew; he was my dad’s beloved friend. They spent many days and nights eating pan dulce, drinking a cold one and laughing it up.
He will be greatly missed.
