We often rode together to our garden club & to the Hospice floral arrangement meetings where we would make flowers for hospice patients. She always loved doing that. Everybody in the club loved her. She was so kind, gracious, generous, and had a smile on her face that made all your troubles fade away.

Jo and I always celebrated our birthdays together with little token gifts and flowers and cake. She was my best friend and I miss her dearly, but I’ll hold her close in my heart always.

Dear Neil and family
We enjoyed her presence at the Garden club meetings and Hospice Floral workdays.  She volunteered to host about 20 of us for one of the workdays and showed us around Neil's workshop (which most of our husbands would envy).  She had a quiet graciousness and a strong faith.  She will be missed.

My dear, precious mother. I miss you more than words can say. We have so many special memories, just the two of us, that fill my heart. I don’t know what I’m supposed to do now when I have some random tidbit I want to text you or a funny story to share. I sent you Friday pool pics just like always because I just couldn’t bear not to. 

I don’t think you could possibly know how much I love you, but I hope you have an inkling. I hope that I have been a good daughter to you, as you have certainly been a most loving, caring, and generous mom to me. You will be in my heart always. GNNNSDSTILYTC. ❤️

A tribute to Jo Ann from her sisters, Fran & Karen. Our hearts are broken, and we will forever miss our beautiful, kind, caring, giving, and loving sister.

Jo was the oldest of four children. Jo, Clarence, Fran, and Karen remained close throughout our lives. She was the perfect Sister. No matter what, she was always there for us. Whether assisting with adolescent awkwardness, helping with a newborn, or confidentially supporting us financially.

You could bet your life if you told her something in confidence, you would never hear it repeated. She was forgiving. If you had a spat with her; you could talk it through and would never hear of it again, no matter how hurtful or unfair you may have been.

Jo was extremely smart. Our family depended on her to get answers quickly and efficiently to solve many problems through the years. And she ALWAYS made things happen so that the rest of us need not worry.

She was stunningly beautiful; and her dress and style had her standing out in any crowd, no matter where she went.

She didn’t send text or emails. She hand wrote and mailed the most beautiful and thoughtful notes, for even the smallest gesture or kindness.

Jo was a gifted seamstress. She could sew, bead and crochet beautifully. She recovered furniture, adding detailed piping that rivaled any professional. She painted rocks to sell at her Garden Club charitable events. She and Neil could take a cutting off of any plant and start so many new ones.

Neil, Sr. traveled the world; and Jo, Jody and Neil, Jr., would often accompany or join him. Her vacation notes were humorous and filled with memories of the day.

She was a great cook, loved the holidays, and hosted the annual Thanksgiving dinner for family.

She loved her animals with all of her heart, spoiling them unregretfully. Jo’s greatest loves were her children and grandchildren; but most of all, her husband, Neil.

She loved life, and she will ALWAYS be in our hearts.

The Mendel’s were not only neighbors to us 60 years ago but they were family to us the Prices. Our prayers are with her family.
