He is preceded in death by his parents Sam and Magdalina Butera; wife Margaret Butera; and sisters Sadie Montalbano and Mary Grace Calo.
Survived by his son Sam Butera and wife Linda; brothers Sammy Butera and wife Mary and Anthony Butera along with many nieces and nephews.
Joe served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Nevada and was a survivor during the bombing of Pearl Harbor. When Joe returned he worked for R&R Wholesale Co. for 27 years of dedication.
Visitation will be at Forest Park Lawndale funeral home 6900 Lawndale Houston, TX 77023 Friday, December 11, 2020 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM will a celebration of life service to start at 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family request for friends to send donations to any organization of their choice.
