Eulogy :
I want to Thank everyone for taking time out of your busy schedules and other who wanted to be here, but couldn't, but are here in spirit... to attend the funeral of my Dad.
Joseph Cabello Munoz was a 25+ year employee for the city of Houston, 25+ year veteran of the United States Navy. Where he did 2 tours of Vietnam as a Corpman/Medic. The husband of Abalbertha Salazar. Grandfather of 5. And the Father of a daughter, and 3 sons, our Dad.
Today we our gathered here to mourn our loss, but also to celebrate his life. Much like Joseph in the bible, my Dad was blessed with providing for his family during hard times. He provided us good work ethics, taught us right from wrong, and told us to never to put him in a nursing home...What makes me sad today was that we, me and my brothers were not by his side when he met eternity because we were sick. But thankfully my sister was there to care for him in his last days.
We all knew he was on God's time, since my Mom's passing he had wanted to go. But God kept him here for His reasons and has now allowed my Dad to join my mother, in eternity, and has allowed him to suffer no more in this earthly life, but to rest and enjoy the afterlife with the Lord.
I wanted to thank my brothers and sisters for all doing our parts in caring for him physically. I want Thank his Sister, Mary and brother-in-law,Al Gonzalez for caring for him spiritually with their prayers and providing the body of Christ when they could. Wanted to especially thank my nephew, Mark Bernal, for assisting with my Dad's day to day care. Allowing us to be gainfully employed and provide for ourselves and families.
I know my Dad's suffering has ended. I know he loved us and we loved him. We cared for him as best we could with what we had and what he provided us. He lived a good life, and imparted that to us and to others in his lifetime. And for that I and my siblings are grateful. I know my Dad would want you to mourn for him, but to not stay sad. Let us after today go back to our gardens and tend to them. Enjoy one another as we still live and breathe. Thank God for what he does in our lives. Thank you Dad for all you did for me, my siblings, your family, friends, and those you didn't even know...God bless you always!

Grandpa joe , you are a true inspiration to me.when i stayed at your house for about a year i learned  valuable information that i will carry with me the rest of my life. your willpower to live was very inspiring. you one of the MAIN reasons why i chose the pursuit of health and fitness BEFORE economical and financial gain.your suffering was your ultimate teaching to me and i will NOT let it go to waste!

i am truely Greatful for your existance in my life, Thank you.

We want to express our sympathy and condolences to the family.
We were  sad to hear of Uncle Joe's passing. In many ways, he wa
an original. 
When I think of your father I think of laughter.
 My Mother and Dad always enjoyed his company in their home. Uncle Joe would ask my mother what she was cooking  and he would always volunteer to do the dishes after he ate.
He was often opinionated, particularly about food and drink, and
always a delight to be with.
I enjoyed the the times when Uncle Joe and Paul would sit and talk about their Navy days and that's when the salty language would come out.

Thank You Uncle Joe for being just you.

Raoul was born on my Dads birthday 6/8/1970. He was his major caregiver, because he stayed at his home during the week. Thanks dear brothers Raoul, Roel and Raguel for doing your best with dad. Dad is proud of you for giving him the best care! Raoul is in the photo sitting with my dad posted earlier. 🥰

Grandpa always had a good sense of humor. Always made me laugh with all his jokes and nicknames he had for people and I loved hearing his stories. Rest in peace grandpa I will miss you.

Dad loved the beach and would take us to Galveston, Tx for a family outting. This is a beautiful morning in Galveston July 2020.

I will never forget you grandpa you were a huge part of my life growing up and I’m happy I was able to help you through your last years of life and spend time with you before you passed on. Your personality was equal to none and there was never a dull moment with you. Thank you for the life experiences that you have given me and I hope your at peace with grandma because I know you never stopped talking about being with her again.

My dad was a character. He love to eat and at times had a sailor mouth. The good thing is that we understood why. He loved telling stories and being silly with all his family. He was hooked for awhile on the "Frijolitos Pintos" song. A song my grandmother Pola would sing too. My favorite memory of my dad is him arriving home from Reserve duty in his uniform and ready to spend play time with us. He was always young at heart! Love you Dad ; )

I remember the story of Joe not wanting to sleep inside the house in Mexico, because the roof was made of concrete. Lol!! That’s one of my favorite stories. He was a great man! RIP
