Joe S. Tellez, age 82, of Houston, Texas, passed away on February 13, 2025. He was born on March 17, 1942, in Houston, Texas, where he grew up in the Magnolia neighborhood. Joe graduated from Milby High School in 1960 and went on to have a dedicated career as a stocker and grocery manager.
Joe was an active member of Holy Name and St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. His faith was a central part of his life, and he formed meaningful relationships with many throughout his years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lorenzo Tellez & Lucy Sanchez Tellez, his sister Janie Tellez, his brothers Tony & Richard Tellez and his beloved daughter Sabrina Tellez.
Joe is survived by his children, Regina T Chavez & Eric Tellez, his grandchildren Elizabeth Perez, Zachary Chavez & Halen Sanchez, his great grandsons, Ethan & Eli Perez, son in law Ramiro Sanchez, brothers Felix & David Tellez and mother of his children Teresa Tellez, his aunt Alice Zapata, as well as numerous family members and friends.
He will be remembered for his kindness, dedication to his family, and his contributions to the church and his community. He leaves behind a lasting legacy of love and devotion to those who knew him.
